William J. Scerbo, 88, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Friday December 28, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home. He was the husband of the late Ella Mae (Fish) Scerbo, who died June 18, 1981. Born May 4, 1930 in Jersey City, New Jersey the son of the late Frank S. Scerbo Sr and the late Jennie (Olivia) Scerbo. He was a resident of Monroe County since 1959 and prior to that of Jersey City, New Jersey. He was a Christian. He loved to play racquet ball and also volunteered for the VNA Hospice of Monroe County. William was a talented self made man and could do anything and had his hands in many different venues, He was always self employed in fields such as Auto Mechanic, Truck Driver and Construction. He is survived by his daughters, Carol A. Fisher and her husband Joseph of East Stroudsburg, Donna M. Hudon and her husband Rock of Marshall’s Creek, and Billie Jo Lee and her husband Skip of East Stroudsburg; his 3 grandchildren Daniel A. Viechnicki, Ashley M. Hudon and Samantha Pennell; his 6 great grandchildren Owen and Hayden Viechnicki, Randy and Hailey Pennell, Ellie Mae and Thomas McGuire. He is also survived by his long time companion Karla Ritzer, his sister Jennie Bolles and her Husband John of Marshall’s Creek, his brothers Alfred Scerbo and his wife Gay of Seagirt, NJ, and Vincent Scerbo and his wife Carmen of Jersey City NJ; and many nieces and nephews William was predeceased by his sisters Frances Soden, Elsie Miranda, Beatrice Calamito, Anna Yakimovitch, Eleanor Spano; his brothers Constantine, Frank Jr, Anthony, and Joseph. Funeral services will be on Thursday January 3, 2019 at 11:00am at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg Burial will follow in the Laurelwood cemetery, Stroudsburg. There will be viewings on Wednesday January 2nd from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Thursday January 3rd from 10:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg PA 18360
