William Anson Plattenburg Iii

William Anson Plattenburg III, 73, of East Stroudsburg passed away on March 28, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital in Stroudsburg. Born in East Stroudsburg he was the son of the late William Anson Jr. and Lorraine (Kammer) Plattenburg. He was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School and worked at the International Boiler Works in East Stroudsburg and then as a Union laborer for Local  #1174 of Allentown until his retirement. He was the widow of "Cookie" Angela (DiVietro) Plattenburg who passed away in 2014.He is survived by 2 daughters, Marli Plattenburg, who resided with him and Darbi Dunning and her husband Richard of East Stroudsburg. Also surviving are grandchildren Karissa Plattenburg, Antonio Pescatore, Cameron Weikel, Evan Dunning, Curtis Weikel, Austin Dunning and Emmalee Dunning and the light of his life great-grandchildren Alesiana Plattenburg and Jeremy Grose Jr. Also surviving are 2 sisters Joan Kresge and Nancy Nordmark both of North Carolina, many cousins in the area as well as his special friend and neighbor Joan Bentzoni.      In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his brother Kim Plattenburg.   In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing or playing candy crush on his tablet but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be happy to reunite with his beagle Bonnie Belle. He continued to put up a fight until the very end and I will miss my daily 9:30am phone call. Services will be held on Wednesday March 31st at 6:00pm with a viewing from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Bensing Thomas Funeral Home 401 North 5th Street Stroudsburg.
