On the evening of August 14, 2019, William “Dee” Adolph Rake, Jr. died at his home. He was 88 years old. He was born in 1931 and originally from White Plains, New York to the late Frances M. and William Adolph Rake. He was a life-long resident of Monroe County. Dee graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with a Bachelors degree in Architecture. After college Dee joined the firm of Rinker and Kiefer Architects in Stroudsburg, which later became RKR/Hess Associates. Dee was responsible for the design of many of the well-known buildings in Monroe County and surrounding areas. Dee also enjoyed music and played for many area square dances with the band, The Mountain Dewers. He is survived by his wife Sonya E. Rake and two sons; Thomas W. Rake, and William A. Rake III. There will be no formal calling hours or services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marshalls Creek Fire Company or The Bushkill Emergency Corps.
