Wesley Howard “Wes” Silfee Sr. 77, of East Stroudsburg, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday April 30, 2023, at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Diane L. (LaBar) Silfee, who passed away March 27, 2023, they were married June 10, 1967.
Born August 20, 1945, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, one of fourteen children to the late Gilbert Charles and Ann (Petrick) Silfee. He was a resident of Monroe County for most of his lifetime.
He was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Craigs Meadow.
Wes was retired from the United States Army and Army National Guard, he served during Desert Storm.
Wes is survived by his Children Wesley H.” Chip” Silfee Jr and his wife Jennifer of Marietta, New York, Ronald E. Silfee and his wife Kelley of Alexandria Bay, New York, and Wendy A. Reichert and her husband William G. Bill” of East Stroudsburg.
His grandchildren Jessica Leigh Silfee of Marietta, New York, Amanda Jean Mackes and her husband Kurtis of Jamesville, New York, Miranda Sue Pierson and her husband Byron of Springville, Pennsylvania, William G. Reichert III of St. Robert, Missouri, Christian M. Reichert of El Paso, Texas, Victoria A. Reichert of East Stroudsburg, Rachel Silfee of Cortland, New York, and his triplet grandchildren Monique Silfee. Brianna Silfee and Kasey Silfee all of Clayton, North Carolina.
His great grandchildren Jaxx Silfee, Brody Mackes, Kimberly Mackes, and Bryson Pierson
His siblings Esther Norris of East Stroudsburg, Jeannie Balmer, of Binghamton NY, Joyce Michaels of Levittown, Sally Gontz of Stroudsburg, Robert Silfee of Neola, Barbara Conklin of Kunkletown, Roy Silfee of Hartford, and Paul Silfee of Florida. And many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his 3 sisters Charlotte Batzel, Eleanor Huge, Rosemarie Hineline and his brother Stephen Silfee and his brother Gilbert Nelson “Sonny” Silfee.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 10, at 12:00 Noon at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with the Military Chaplain Officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
There will be viewing on Tuesday May 9, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday May 10, 2023 from 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
