Walter Joseph Nelson

Walter Joseph Nelson, known to friends and family as Walt, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at St. Luke’s Monroe Campus of illness at the age of 72. Walt was born on November 28, 1945 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Josephine and Louis Nelson. He is survived by his wife Joanne Place Nelson, daughter Stacy Miller, brothers James Nelson and Louis Nelson, granddaughters Theresa Miller and Valerie Mullen, grandson Scott Frederick, and two greatgrandsons Scott Frederick, Jr, and Colton Frederick, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sisters Barbara Nelson, Eva Traina, and Dorothy Peclet. Walt will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. 5th Street, Stroudsburg.
