Virginia Louise Scheirer

Virginia Louise Scheirer 83, of Stroudsburg, died Friday, March 2, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono. She was the Wife of the late Douglas E. Scheirer, who died May 29, 2010. Born September 7, 1935 in Asbury Park, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Hazel (Bennett) Hendrickson and was a resident of Monroe County for most of her lifetime. She was an active member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg; volunteered for the American Red Cross disaster team; East Stroudsburg Flats ACO (civil defense); ESYA Boosters; Former Republican Committee 5th Ward East Stroudsburg; Civil Air Patrol; Saint Matthews Church Choir and Bells; and the ACME Hose Company Ladies Auxillary. She is survived by her daughter Linda Clark; her two sons, Deacon Kevin L. Scheirer and his wife Rita and Eric C. Scheirer and his wife Doris; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer LaBar-Seese, Angela Scheirer Allen, Jennifer Westfall, Kevin D. Scheirer, Megan Alt, Sister Sarah Mutchler , Jacob Mutchler, Michael D. Scheirer, Ralph Scheirer and Jonathon Scheirer and Wesley Scheirer: and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Benjamin Hendrickson III. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Scheirer and her husband Douglas E. Scheirer A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM Friday March 8, 2019 at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, East Stroudsburg with a visitation from 9:30am until the time of the Mass. Private burial will take place at a later date in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
