Thomas Joseph Knaak (age 55) passed away peacefully August 6, 2018 at his home in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Tom was the youngest of five brothers and was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Dory) Knaak and his father, Robert J Knaak. ....Tom was a gentle soul and a loving brother with a terrific sense of humor. He was a great story teller about the good old days. They were always “remember when” stories and he seemed to remember them all. And when he was a little boy his heroes were always his brothers. Tom could be hilarious one moment and serious the next. He was never judgmental with those he loved and had a wonderful sense of empathy toward others in need. Tom was a loyal and good friend to those who knew him best. And he will be dearly missed. Tom was an Honor Roll graduate of East Stroudsburg University earning a BA degree in Health Sciences. In college Tom hosted a humorous and creative college radio music program on WESS titled Chief Buffalo Big Sky and the Cosmic Journey. Tom also acted in several college plays and had the lead role in a high school theatre production. He loved music and played guitar. His favorite band was The Grateful Dead. Lastly, Tom loved animals and truly appreciated their healing comfort. He is survived by his four brothers: Paul Kodiak, David Patrick, Robert Knaak, and Kevin Knaak. His sisters-in-law: Lisa, Lia and Ingunn. His nieces: Natalie, Kelly, Selena, Amanda and Sara. And his nephews: Robin and Evan. Rest in Peace little brother. We loved you from the day you were born… and always will. Till we meet again somewhere in the Big Sky. Memorial gathering will be held Wednesday September 5, 2018 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home in Stroudsburg, PA Burial of his cremated remains will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
