Theodora "Dory" Dorin, 75, of East Stroudsburg passed away at home on Saturday, November 27th 2021. Dory was born on September 13, 1946 in Olyphant, Pennsylvania to the late Theodore and Adele Shopay. Dory was the loving wife of the late Thomas Dorin – prior to his passing, they spent 40 wonderful years together, filled with so much love, laughter and joy. Not only were they great to each other, but they were two of the most amazing, kind, and giving people anyone would have the privilege of knowing. They complimented each other well and everyone knew that they had a “forever love”, one that most don’t ever get to experience in their lifetime. Throughout her life Dory enjoyed many things, including collecting beanie babies and anything with an elephant on it, watching and feeding her backyard deer, traveling the world with Tommy, having a good glass of chardonnay at the Elk and JR’s, spending quality time with her friends and “special children”, and taking care of her own baby (dog) Patriot. Dory was loved immensely in her lifetime and is survived by her sisters Maryann Karopchak and husband John; Adele Glinsky; Sister in-law Diane Smith and husband William; Lorraine Cudo and Joseph; nieces Debbie Johnson, Laurie Gates and husband James, Robin Tefft and husband Tim, Nicole Smith; Judy Glinsky, Joann Glinsky, Jennifer Beylickjian and husband Bob; nephews John Glinsky and wife Riza, Mark Cudo and wife Christine; also many grand nieces and nephews and greatv grand nieces and nephews; many Godchildren; her faithful companion dog Patriot, her “special children” – Danielle, Matthew and Andrew, alongside their parents Dr. Richard and Lorna David, her longtime friends Stella Truran and Mike Tieff M.D., neighbor and loving friend Jim, along with all of the previous radiologists at the Pocono Medical Center (Chuck Kempf M.D., Bill Tatu M.D., and Rick Canupp) and staff in Advanced Radiology Services, where she worked. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any animal shelter. A celebration of life visitation will be held for Dory at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home on Wednesday December 1st at 10:00am with the burial to follow at 12:00pm at the Prospect Cemetery at 501 Prospect St East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
