Tara Anne Cioni

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tara Anne Cioni, age 46, of Stroudsburg, on May 2nd, 2025.

Born on December 7, 1978, in Scranton, PA, to Maureen (Martin) and John Cioni, Tara spent her formative years in East Stroudsburg, PA, graduating from East Stroudsburg Area School District in 1997. She earned a degree in Sociology from East Stroudsburg University and for over two decades, Tara poured her heart and soul into serving the children and families of Monroe County at Children and Youth Services.

Above all else, Tara was a devoted mother to her cherished children, Madyson Cioni and Jameson Francis. She was their constant source of love, laughter, and unwavering support.

Her caring nature extended beyond her own family, making her a treasured friend to many. Tara had a remarkable gift for fostering deep connections, and her infectious laughter and vibrant spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Tara is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Maureen and John Cioni. She leaves behind her loving children, Madyson Cioni and Jameson Francis, her former husband, Kenneth Francis, and her dear brothers, Christopher Cioni and Matthew Cioni. She will also be deeply missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Tara’s radiant smile, compassionate heart, and optimism will be her enduring legacy. The love and light she brought into this world will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Celebration of Life to honor Tara will be held at the Shawnee Inn Pavilion on Friday, May 9th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support her beloved children, Madyson Cioni and Jameson Francis, through Venmo, @madysoncioni
