Stephen Ferraioli, 56, of Tobyhanna, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Pocono Health System Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Melinda (Lantzer) Ferraioli. They recently celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary in April. Born May 4, 1960 in Norristown and raised in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Bridget (Gravinese) Ferraioli. He was a resident of Monroe County since 1978. Steve was a 1982 Graduate of East Stroudsburg University and later earned his Master’s degree from Wilkes University in Educational Leadership and Administration. His 33 year career with the Pocono Mountain School District began as a Physical Education teacher before becoming a beloved principal at Coolbaugh Elementary Center, and most recently the Executive Director of Support Staff Services for the district. Steve loved the outdoors, especially fishing, golfing, and spending time at the beach. He served as a deputy for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for several years. He was a tried and true Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. One of his newest hobbies was playing the guitar and singing with his grandchildren. Steve was happiest when he was with his family. In addition to his wife Mindy, he is survived by his daughter Christina A. Mann, her husband Thomas, and two granddaughters Liliana and Amelia of Tobyhanna, his son Stephen J. Ferraioli, his wife Amanda, granddaughter Giuliana, and grandson (due in October) of Thorndale, PA, and son Michael S. Ferraioli and his wife Tobey of Maplewood, New Jersey. He is also survived by his three brothers Nicholas (Patricia) of Plymouth Meeting, Richard (Kay) of Boyertown, and Jack (Donna) of Flourtown; his mother and father in law Judy and Richard Lantzer of Stroudsburg, and his sisters in law Laurie (Gary) Braman of Stroudsburg and Jenny (Brian) Goings of Clinton, New Jersey. He is loved by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:00am at the Berean Bible Fellowship Church, 1028 Tara View Drive, Stroudsburg with Pastor Dan Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday from 9:00am until the time of the service at the church. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is directing the funeral arrangements.
