Shirley Mae (Kemmerer) Graffin, born on August 13, 1945, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on December 5, 2025.

Shirley dedicated her entire life to her family, finding her true love and purpose with them.

Shirley’s legacy is one of love and dedication that will forever be cherished by her children: Heidi (Graffin) England, of East Stroudsburg; William Graffin, his wife, Nicole, East Stroudsburg, Kimberly Shotwell of Lakeland, Florida; her late beloved son, Troy Shotwell; her stepsons Bartram Graffin of Queen Creek Arizona, Beau Graffin of Scottsdale, Arizona and Brett Graffin of Live Oak, Florida.

Shirley’s pride and joy was in her grandchildren: Miranda LaPierre, Christopher Vega, Myrissa Dillon, Krystle Bastante, Brandton Graffin, Benjamin Graffin, Corey England, and Sara Graffin.

Shirley also is survived by her precious great-grandchildren: Cayson, Ashlynn, Aria, Asha, Liam, Aubrey, and Aviana. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure through the memories of all her children and grandchildren.

Shirley's lifelong friends were her siblings: Claudette Seager, Divine Stearns, Thomas Kemmerer, Darlene Dieter, Harold Kemmerer, Nancy Duggins, Patricia Matlock, and James Kemmerer. She also loved and enjoyed spending time with several nieces and nephews, leaving each with lasting memories.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Thomas and Violet (Hilliard) Kemmerer; her husband, Bartram Graffin, her son, Troy David Shotwell, her grandson, Christopher Vega; her siblings, Divine Stearns and Harold Kemmerer, and her nephew, Joseph Muldoon.

Shirley's absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her fun-loving, nurturing spirit, bright smile and infectious laugh.

Shirley appreciated nice cars, trucks and vans; she owned many and took pride in keeping each clean and waxed at all times; a skilled poker player who often left the tables as the big winner.

Shirley enjoyed traveling the United States. As far west as California, Arizona, and Washington State, and as far south as Texas and Florida. Still in her senior years she willingly joined trips to Times Square, the Bronx Zoo, and road trips to the beaches and riverwalks of North Carolina.

Shirley spent most of her life maintaining a warm, welcoming home, listening without judgment, and loving with her whole heart, and for that she deserves thanks. She was a Mom, Gram, a sister, an Aunt, a friend, neighbor and so much more. We will all miss her and what she meant to us.

Shirley will be laid to rest with the love of her life, Bartram. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:00AM at the Riverview Cemetery in Portland, Pennsylvania.

In remembrance, the family requests that you plant Shirley's favorite tree, the Tulip Magnolia.

The family trusts Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg, to handle the arrangements.
