Shirley May Wright

Shirley May (Gueiss) Wright, 79, of East Stroudsburg died Thursday morning, April 17, 2020 at Whitestone Care Center in Stroud Township. She was preceded in death by husband, Howard B. Wright on August 15, 1996. Born on July 3, 1940 at the Rosenkrantz Hospital in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late John L. Sr. and Ruth (Flemming) Gueiss and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Shirley was employed since 1958 in the dietary department of the General Hospital of Monroe County, becoming the Pocono Medical Center until retirement in 2008. She is survived by two daughters, Hopenadine Fay (Gueiss) Long and husband Paul of East Stroudsburg, and Rosemarie Klinger of Lawrence MA. Two sons, John Klinger and wife Judy (Weiss) Klinger, and Rodger Wright and wife Maria (Williams) Wright of Saylorsburg. Grandsons, Kyle Klinger of Mayfield PA and Cory Klinger and wife Abigale (Ormiston) Klinger of Whitehall, PA. Grandaughters, Josette Wright, Saylorsburg and Vanessa (Long) McAlpine and husband Johnny, of Las Vegas NV. One Great Grandson, Robert Paul Long, East Stroudsburg. And several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Robert E. Gueiss, John L. Gueiss Jr., Donald B. Gueiss; and sister, Lida Bensley, and infant twins Jimmy and Dorothy Gueiss. Also one Great Grandson, Christopher Long. Shirley attended the Salvation Army Church East Stroudsburg and the Pocono Christian Center, Hamilton Township, Stroudsburg. Private interment will be at the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, PA.
