Shirley J. Ackerman

Shirley J. Ackerman January 12, 2018 Shirley J. Ackerman, 85, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Raymond R. Ackerman; they were married April 9, 1955. Born March 20, 1932, in Bangor, she was the daughter of the late Edward T. and Rebecca (Kressler) Marshall. She was a resident of Monroe County since 1955. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Scott A. Ackerman and his wife, Connie, of Wind Gap, and Steve C. Ackerman of Kunkletown; her grandchildren: Kelli McFall and her husband, Jeff, of Stroudsburg; Ryan Ackerman and his wife, Rachel, of Mount Bethel; and Scott E. Ackerman and his wife, Carly, of Pen Argyl. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Marshall and his wife, Betty, of Forks Township, and several nieces and nephews There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Friday, Jan. 19, at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Fifth St., Stroudsburg. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Todd officiating. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
