Sally M. Ryan

Sally Marie Ryan, 87, of Tobyhanna, PA, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 15 th, 2016 at Pocono Medical Center Hospital in East Stroudsburg, PA while awaiting surgery for a blood clot. Sally was born on January 9, 1929 in Syracuse, NY to Joseph and Anna Stapleton. She was married to Robert (Gus) Ryan on June 17, 1950 in Syracuse, NY. Sally is survived by her husband Gus and her six children, Peggy, John, Bob, Patricia, Dennis, Michael and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sally was predeceased by her Sister Alice Haley. The family moved many times to accommodate Gus’ employment, mostly with The Okonite Wire and Cable Company. Sally was a devoted, loving Mother, wife and grandmother and found most happiness spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and playing bridge with her friends in the Poconos and in Vero Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held on Monday June 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St Patrick’s/St Brigid’s Catholic Church located at 216 N Lowell Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204. There will be a visitation period from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Edward J Ryan and son Funeral Home located at 3180 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse, NY The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St Jude to the Sally Ryan Memorial Fund 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
