Russell T. Dotter, 92, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Manor. He was the loving husband of Arline G. (Haupt) Dotter, they were married on June 11, 1948. Born September 16, 1923, in Bloomfield, New Jersey, the son of the late Emile and Anna (Larger) Dotter. He was a resident of Monroe County since 1955and prior to that of Greeley, Pennsylvania He was a Graduate of Hawley High School with the Class of 1940. He then graduated from Lafayette College in Easton with a dual degree in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering. Russell was a proud Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp being a pilot during World War II, he flew many missions over the “Hump“ in the China-Burma-India Theater. "Russell received military decorations of 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 4 Air medals and the Chinese Order of the Cloud and Banner - the highest award given to foreign nationals." He was a Past Master of the Barger Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons #325, Stroudsburg, and was a member of the Tall Cedars. He was a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church, East Stroudsburg. He was an avid hunter, Fisherman and Golfer, and belong to a bowling league. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he ran the Product Testing Lab at Patterson-Kelley in East Stroudsburg for many years. Prior to that he worked at the New Jersey Machine Company in Hackensack, New Jersey. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Glenn R. Dotter and his wife Colleen of Salida, Colorado, Wayne T Dotter and his wife Holly Newcomb of East Stroudsburg, Denise A. Rogers and her husband Richard Sr. of Green Lane, PA, Nanette L Eckel and her husband Christian of Richville, NY and Gregg E. Dotter and his wife Rae Anne of Howard, Colorado. His grandchildren Richard P. Rogers Jr of Salida, CO, Danielle L Bryant and her husband James of Gulfport Mississippi, Kori Eckel on active military duty in Afghanistan, Sarrah Eckel of Vero Beach FL, Aaron Dotter and his wife Maegan of Augusta, Manie, Grant Dotter of North Berwick, Maine, Jessica L Dotter of Colorado Springs, CO, Mason T Dotter and Nolan H. Dotter both of Howard CO. and his great grandson Hunter Eckel of Richville NY. He was predeceased by his daughter Darline A. Dotter, his, grand daughter Heather R. Rogers, and is sister Marcelle. Funeral services with Masonic Services will be held on Saturday May 14, 2016 at 11:ooam at the Bensing- Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor John Harding officiating. There will be a viewing on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home Burial of his cremated remains will be at the convenience of the family in the Lackawaxen Cemetery, Lackawaxen, Pike County, PA.
