Rose Coco

Cross Rose Coco, 105 of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Sunday December 9, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township. She was the wife of the late Anthony F. Coco who died in January of 1960. Born August 30, 1913 in Balestrate, Italy, the daughter of the late James and Anna Messina. She was a resident of Monroe County for 103 years. She was a member of the Church of Saint Matthew, East Stroudsburg where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Stroudsburg Italian Club. Prior to her retirement she worked as a seamstress at Valerie Fashions in Wind Gap for many years. Rose is survived by her son Carmen V. Coco of East Stroudsburg; her granddaughters, Kristen King and her husband Joel of East Stroudsburg , Deborah Powanda and her husband John of Stroudsburg; her great grandchildren Katelynn Torzillo, Maxwell Powanda, Luke Powanda, Brendon King and Nicholas King. Her sister Jean Lucki of Tonawanda New York and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Josephine Scagliotta, James Messina, and Anna Grasso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 10:00am at the Church of saint Matthew, 200 Brodhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg with Father Jerry Shatillo as celebrant. There will be a visitation on Wednesday December 12 from 9:00am until the time of the mass at the church Burial will follow in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
