Ronald F. Gouger, 83, of Stroud Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Cedar Crest Hospital after a brief illness with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Susan (Dildine) Gouger. They would have been married 36 years on September 16, 2025.

Born August 15, 1941, in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Alvesta (Heckman) Gouger, Ron was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. After graduating from Stroudsburg High School, he entered the U.S Air Force and served proudly from 1959-1963. After his honorable discharge, he began a long and successful career with AT&T, retiring in 1996 after 33 years of service.

After retiring, Ron embraced life with an energy and joy that inspired everyone around him. Ron loved trout fishing and found peace on the water and loved nothing more than sharing fishing stories. He was a volunteer with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, helping stock the local creeks and lakes for over 70 years. He bowled in many leagues at Colonial Lanes and Skylanes.

Ron was a loving husband, father, and Grandfather. He enjoyed taking his sons and Grandchildren fishing.

In addition to his beloved wife Susan, he is survived by two sons Daniel Gouger and his husband MarcAntony La Guerra of Sydney, Australia and Jason Gouger his wife Desirae of Portland, Oregon, two grandchildren Lucas Gouger and Paige Gouger of Portland, Oregon, a brother-in-law John Burrus of Brodheadsville, two nephews, a great niece, and two great nephews.

There will be a viewing at Bensing Thomas Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 10:00-11:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am with Pastor Monica Guepet and Pastor Margie Good. Burial will follow at Keokee Chapel, Paradise Valley.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, 547 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
