Robert J. Welter

Robert J. “Bob” Welter 60, of East Stroudsburg passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Pocono Health System VNA Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Jean (Lee) Welter , the were married for 42 years. Born February 15, 1956 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Jay and Shirley (Felker) Welter. Bob was a member of the East Stroudsburg Fire Company. He worked for Jim Weiss Auto Body & Towing. Bob loved working on cars and doing auto body work. He would help anyone whenever he could. Bob was an avid Nascar fan and a big Dale Earnhardt fan. He didn’t miss a race and he loved his old time TV shows. Bob loved his family dearly and in addition to his wife Robert is survived by his sons, Adam J. Welter at home; Jason Welter and his wife Holly of East Stroudsburg; Robert Welter and Karyn Kasperski of East Stroudsburg; his sisters Susan Felker and fiancé Martin Grose of East Stroudsburg; Cathy Heckman of East Stroudsburg; Brenda and Garry Boushell from Tennessee; Rhonda and David Due from Bangor; Jayne and Fred DiEmidio of Bangor; his grandbabies, Dillon, Fallon, Aaron, Robert, Jacob, Paige, Chelsey and Gaige; his mother in-law Rose Lee of East Stroudsburg; his sister in-laws Rose Nelson, Bessie Farrance, Patricia DeHaven and brother in-law Michael Lee. There will be a visitation on Saturday June 25, 2016 starting at 1:00pm with a Memorial Service at 2:00pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor Margie Good officiating Burial will follow at Keller’s Cemetery in Cherry Valley. I lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the funeral home.
