Richard O. Slutter

Richard O. Slutter, 90, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Tuesday August 21, 2018 at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Bartonsville. He was the husband of the late Phyllis D. (Terboss) Slutter, who died August 4, 2015. Born October 3, 1927 on North 9th Street in Stroudsburg, the son of the late Walter and Florence (Hallett) Slutter. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County, and was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School with the Class of 1946. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Italy Dick enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada with his brother’s , family and friends, and enjoyed weekends at the hunting cabin. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an exterminator for J.C. Ehrlich for many years. Prior to that he worked at the former Ronson Corp in Delaware Water Gap. He is survived by his son Richard K. Slutter of East Stroudsburg, his brothers, Donald Slutter and his wife Donna; and Lester Slutter all of Stroudsburg; and many nieces and nephews.. Dick was predeceased by his brother, Walter and his 2 sisters, Grace Jones and Anna Drake Graveside funeral services with military services will be held on Friday August 24, 2018 at 11:00am at the Stroudsburg Cemetery with Pastor Margie Good officiating.
