Reverend Doctor Donald Robert Billeck

The Reverend Doctor Donald Robert Billeck, 76, of Middle Smithfield Township, passed away suddenly on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at his home. He was the loving husband of Joyce A. (Behr) Billeck, they were married May 23, 1970. Born October 28, 1944 in The Bronx, New York, the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Kujanpaa) Billeck. He was a resident of Monroe County for the more than 30 years. He was an Interim Minister for the NEPA Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for 23 years and previously served congregations in Takoma Park, MD, Williamsport, PA, Amagansett, NY, Greenwood Lake, NY and Kingston, NY. Currently, he was serving as Pastor of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pen Argyl. Pastor Don graduated from Dewitt Clinton HS, Bronx, NY and Wagner College, Staten Island, NY. He received his Master of Divinity and his Doctor of Divinity Degrees from Philadelphia Luther Seminary. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 3 sons, David Billeck of Scranton, Stephen Billeck of East Stroudsburg and Timothy Billeck of Scranton; his sister Carole Billeck Anderson of Wellington, FL, his niece Christina Anderson, his nephew Peter Anderson (Myra). He is also survived by his sister in law Carol Behr Power and her husband Lee of Prescott, AZ, and her children Scott Hall and Family, Eric Hall and Family and Leanne & Sung Yi and Family, Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 5, 2020 11:00 am at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 12 N Westbrook Ave, Pen Argyl, PA 18072, with Pastor Niels Nielson officiating.
