Pietro Calcara
March 15, 1933 — November 19, 2022
Pietro Calcara, 89, of Stroudsburg passed away at his home on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was the loving husband of Olga (Marino) Calcara. They were married for 59 years.
Pietro was born in Argrigento, Italy, and was the son of the late Antonino and Maria Concetta Calcara; he had been a resident of Stroudsburg since 2000 and prior to that of Emerson and Cresskill in Bergen County, New Jersey.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Italian Mutual Benefit Association of Stroudsburg.
Pietro was a civil engineer. He worked on everything from rocket engines to suspension bridges during his long career.
There will be a visitation and memorial service on Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Deacon Anthony Porcaro officiating.
