Phyllis A. Frankowski, 93, of Tamiment, passed away on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at home. Born February 25, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Edfanio (Thomas) Messina and Angela Ferrigno. She was a resident of Pike County since 2012, and prior to that of Monroe County living at Shirley Futch Plaza. Phyllis attended Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church. She donated her time at the Pocono Medical Center and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Prior to her retirement Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper for Shulton/American Cyanamid. She loved to go roller skating, dancing, travel, knitting/crocheting and helping her loved ones. Phyllis is survived by her daughter with whom she lived, Mary Dougan and her husband John of Tamiment; her sons John Frankowski, Robert Frankowski and his wife Annette of Florida and Alfred Frankowski and his wife Lois of California; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two sons Philip and Gary Frankowski. Memorial funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday March 18, 2017 at Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church, 5205 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg with Rev Jeff Brower officiating.
