Peter (Pete) Dallas Meyer, 86, of East Stroudsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023, with his daughter by his side. Pete was born on February 28, 1937, and the only child of Otto and Grace (Rinck) Meyer in Newark, NJ. Pete attended Newark High School and graduated in 1956. This is where his love for photography and bowling started. Peter was active in photography, chess, and chemistry clubs and participated on the bowling team. He was in the Army Reserves from 1960 until 1966 when he was honorably discharged. After discharge Pete continued his love for bowling when he started working for and was the night manager at Parkway Bowling Alley in Irvington, NJ. Peter was also a warehouse supervisor and retired from Campbell Soup – Pepperidge Farms with over 20 years of service.
Pete was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed attending games. He enjoyed listening to country music and was often found listening to any one of his records. He enjoyed nature and especially enjoyed watching the deer in his backyard. His home décor also reflected his love for nature. Peter loved to just take drives, often finding himself in NJ at one of his favorite restaurants, Adam’s Family Restaurant in Budd Lake.
Pete is survived by his two children, Lori (Ryan) Frazer of Kokomo, IN and Edward (Kelly) Meyer of Clearwater, FL; and 4 grandsons Zachary Meyer (Wharton, NJ), Hunter Meyer (Wharton, NJ), Aidan Frazer (Kokomo, IN), and Colin Frazer (Kokomo, IN).
