Penny Sue Hilgert

Penny Sue Hilgert, 70, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Wednesday August 3, 2022, at the Lehigh Valley Health Systems Hospice House. She was the wife of Tommy J. Hilgert, they were married for 50 years. Born June 30, 1952, in East Stroudsburg, the daughter of the late Warren and Anna (Carmel) Edinger. She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. She was a member of the American Legion Post in East Stroudsburg. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Shannon Downes and husband Billie of Arizona. Her Grandchildren Raven, Liam and Dahlia. She is also survived by her sister Cheryl Sandt and her husband Don. There will be no services at this time, the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
