Paul "Shorty" Neipert Sr. 85, of East Stroudsburg passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is the longtime companion of Debra Meeker for over 35 years. Born on August 2, 1935 in Chester, Pennsylvania the son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Counterman) Neipert. The family moved to East Stroudsburg where he spent the rest of his life. Shorty worked for Hughes Printing (later Mack Printing) for 45 years. He also owned and operated Shorty's Bar for 28 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed trips to his cabins. He was a member of the J. Simpson Africa Masonic Lodge No. 628. Shorty was never wrong, one time he thought he was but he was just mistaken. In addition to his companion, he is survived by children Georgia and her husband Keith Strunk, Paul Neipert, Jr. Tammy Meeker and Tanya Meeker; 5 grandchildren Keith, Scott and Greg Strunk Allison Ace and Max Jaramillo; 7 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Zona Price, Brenda Behrman, Janice Holden, Patricia Metzgar and Douglas Nevil. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Marshall and Ronald “Dutch” Neipert. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be a small private family viewing and service at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home. There will be a public gathering graveside at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg at 2:00pm on Friday December 18, 2020.
