Paul Schouppe Sr, 101 of East Stroudsburg, passed away Monday morning, June 24, 2019 at Pleasant Valley Manor. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Staples) Schouppe having shared 62 years of marriage at the time of her death in 2004. Born April 5, 1918 in Bushkill, he was the youngest of the 9 children of the late William and Margaret (Whitmore) Schouppe. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. He worked at Marsh’s Foundry in Stroudsburg for 43 years. Following his retirement he worked as custodian at the Stroud Township Municipal Building until well into his eighties. Paul is survived by his son Paul R. Schouppe and his wife Regina of Stroudsburg; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son William Schouppe, his daughters Elizabeth Weiss and Pauline Weirich, and his 8 siblings. Services will be held on Saturday June 29, 2019 at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. followed by a memorial service with Pastor David Berryman officiating. Burial will be on Monday July 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
