Paul E. Allen, 83 of Stroudsburg, passed away on Saturday September 26, 2015 at the Pocono Medical Center. Born April 18, 1932 in East Stroudsburg, the son of the late Bertram and Elsie (Smith) Allen. He was a resident of Monroe County for most of his lifetime. He was a proud veteran serving “Boot’s on the Ground” with the United States Army, he then served in the United States Navy in the submarine division, doing underwater retrievals, all during the Korean War. He was on the U.S.S. Diablo (SS-479) which was stationed in USN Sepact Subase, New London, CT. he was awarded several medals. Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) , Korean Service Medal W/5 Bronze Service Stars, United Nation Service Medal, His most significant Duty Assignment was 586th Engineer Float Bridge Co. Paul worked at General Electric in Stroud Township, and worked at various other jobs during his lifetime Currently he was a member of the American Legion Post #346, in the past he was a member VFW post 2540 and the CLU Club, all in East Stroudsburg. He is survived by his son Todd Holdorff and his wife Paula of Effort, his daughter Sharon Bianculli and her husband Jon of Canadensis; his 3 grandchildren Meadow, Sawyer and Mason Holdorff; his sister Nettie Martling of East Stroudsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his daughter Vicky, his sister Elsie Heller, and his brothers Lou and Jack Heller. Memorial funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the American Legion Post 346, 201 East Fifth Street, East Stroudsburg. He will be interred with military honors at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, also at the convenience of the family.
