Patricia "Patti" Costa

Patricia Ann "Patti" Costa, 59, passed away on February 16, 2024, in Bartonsville, PA surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 12, 1964, in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, the fourth child of the late Thomas H. and Dana R. (Jerrett) Brien. Growing up in Sayreville, New Jersey, Patti was an active member of the Our Lady of Victories Parish, where she completed confirmation in 1977. She enjoyed gymnastics, swimming, and writing short stories and poetry. Patti graduated from Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1982 and then worked at Crazy Eddie's Electronics until relocating to Bushkill, Pennsylvania, in 1986. Over the years, Patti worked for the Bushkill Group, ESSA Bank and Trust, and H&R Block.

As a proud mother of three children, Patti enjoyed supporting her children's activities, getting involved as a volunteer, and planning block parties in the summer and on Halloween. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing Scrabble and relaxing at the community pool. Following the deployment of her brother, Peter, to Iraq in 2003, Patti organized a community-wide drive to gather items for the soldiers on active duty.

Patti is survived by her children, Julian, Ellen (John), Remy (Katelyn), a granddaughter, Rosalie, siblings Thomas A. (Yvonne), Peter (Betty), Susan (John), and John, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Frances Brien.

A celebration of life will take place on Friday, February 23rd from 6-8 p.m. at Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg.
