Norman F. Transue (Pete), 91, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Saturday June 25, 2016 at the Pocono Health System Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Anna E. (McFadden) Transue, who died May 12, 2007. Born in Pocono Townhsip, Monroe County, the son of the late, Norman and Nora (Keltz) Transue. Norman lived in Tannersville until enlisting in the Marine Corp at the age of 18. He served in Pacific during WWII as a Sargent. After returning from the war he settled in Phila where he married Anna. Prior to his retirement from Septa, Norman lived in the Mayfair section of Phila where he was the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 84 for many years during the 60's and 70's. Norman loved to hunt, fish, ski, ice skate and roller skate. He was an avid bowler and golfer. Norman personally built his retirement home in Analomink PA in 1973 and returned to the Pocono's as a full time resident in 1995. Norman is survived by his son Dennis (Maureen) Transue of Marlton NJ, his daughter Denise (Edward) Kellner formerly of Sterling PA now residing in Granite Falls NC and four grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth, Lauren and James. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday July 1, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Father Richard Czachor officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, There will be a viewing on Friday July 1 from 12:00noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
