Miriam Vega

Miriam Vega, 84, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Wednesday March 24, 2021 at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus. She was the wife of the late George Vega. Born August 17, 1936 in Manhattan, New York, the daughter of the late John and Maria (Elias) Velez. She was a resident of Monroe County for more than 40 years. She was of the Catholic Faith. Miriam is survived by her children, Christopher George Vega Sr. and his wife Lisa of East Stroudsburg, Philip Vega and his wife Roseann of East Stroudsburg, Kenneth Vega and his wife Denise of New York, and Susan Diaz and her husband Nelson of Florida; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Ida and Nancy. Miriam was predeceased by her daughter Lydia Acosta and her grandson Christopher George Vega II. Catholic Payer services will be held on Wednesday March 31, 2021 at 11:00am at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will follow in the Riverview Portland Cemetery, Portland, Pennsylvania There will be a viewing on Tuesday March 30, 2021 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
