Michael Russo was born Sept 4, 1939 in Manhattan, NY to Rocco Joseph and Anna Logerfo. He passed away on Nov 28 th 2020 from complications from COVID-19. Mike lived in the five boroughs of NY most of his younger years. He joined the in the Army Nation Guard from 1956 to 1957 and then Joined the Navy in June of 1957 to Oct 1960. He served aboard the US Cadmus. Worked for the Daily News out of Brooklyn plant, first as a driver and then a drivers’ foreman until his retirement. Was also once the chairman of the drivers’ union. Mike was married to Martha (Mickey) Larkin in July 1980 until her death in December 2013. They moved to the Poconos in 1985 and lived in East Stroudsburg area until their respective passing. Mike was an Amateur Extra Radio operator, call sign N3JNZ from 1991 to present. Active in the Pocono Amateur Radio Klub in Stroudsburg Area, Mike also helped out as a Volunteer Examiner so other could join the hobby. He was an active member of the VFW in East Stroudsburg, PA as well as other Veterans Organiztions. He is survived by his Son Brett, his wife Erika. Mike loved his cats and had them placed in new forever homes by the Animal Welfare Society of Monroe (AWSOM) when he took ill a few years ago. There will not be a viewing session at this time, but there will be a private service at a later date when it is safe for his family to travel here. Mike will be buried, along with his wife’s ashes and his fathers’ service flag at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
