Michael R. Clare, 30, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born Dec. 9, 1984, in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of Robert C. and Linda M. (Schroth) Clare. He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School South, with the class of 2004. He was a member of the Church of St. Matthew, East Stroudsburg. Michael especially loved playing baseball. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan; he enjoyed camping at motocross races with his brothers, uncles and cousins; and he also enjoyed fishing and rollerblading. Mike was working at Wal-Mart in East Stroudsburg for the past six years. Michael had a great sense of humor and will be missed immensely by all who knew him; he especially loved his brothers and cousins, and, in addition to his parents, he is survived by his three brothers: Eric H., Robert G. and Evan C. Clare, all of East Stroudsburg; his maternal grandparents, Nan and George Schroth of East Stroudsburg; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ann and Henry Clare, and his godmother, Judy O'Malley There will be a visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday March 20, at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Fifth St., Stroudsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 21, at the Church of St. Matthew, East Stroudsburg, with Monsignor John A. Bergamo as celebrant.
