Michael Edward Torrey Sr.

Michael E. Torrey Sr, 58 of Tobyhanna, passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2016. Born December 21, 1957 in East Stroudsburg, the son of Donald A. Torrey of Stroudsburg, and the late Barbara A. (Layton) Torrey, he was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. He worked as an auto mechanic since he was 8 years old. In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Michael E. Torrey Jr; his stepchildren Dawn and Jonny Siewert; his siblings, nieces and nephews Donna, Jerry, Justin and Tyler Hughes; Debra, Heather, Samantha, Shannon, Crystal and Mason Campbell; Lorie, D.J. and Khalil Durante; William and Sherry Torrey He also talked greatly about his grandchildren Allison and Aleah and his great grandchildren Amaiyah and Zyra; and his latest loves grandchildren Joseph, Elijah and Nicholas; and his long time friend Clay Funk. He was predeceased by his son Robert Earl Torrey. There will be a visitation on Sunday August 7, 2016 starting at 10:00am with a memorial service at 11:00am a the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg; with a Celebration of Michael’s life immediately following at his father’s home, 1046 Tara View Drive,, Stroudsburg PA 18360 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may made to the family in care of the funeral Home
