Michael “Capri” Caprista

Passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2025

Mike was a lot of things: charming, stubborn, hilarious, and loyal to a fault. The kind of guy who had the same friends since childhood, and if that’s not proof enough of his loyalty, he was also a lifelong Mets and Jets fan.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Dawn Springer, and their three children: Brittany (her husband CJ and their daughter Gianna, his beloved granddaughter); Michael; and Sydney. He also leaves behind his sister Donna, her husband Michael, and his nieces, Jennifer and Kristen. Family meant everything to him, and so did the friends who became family over the years.

He didn’t want a funeral but keep an eye out for a celebration of life to be scheduled in a few weeks.

We’ll remember him every time the Seinfeld intro hits, a Bruce Springsteen song plays, a corvette drives by, when the Jets blow another season, and when the Mets win the World Series this year…
