Mary M. Kuklis

Mary M. Kuklis, 77, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2017 at Foxdale Village in State College, PA. She formerly resided in Stroudsburg, PA for over 20 years. Mary was born in Queens, New York to William and Clotilda Conforti. As the youngest of 4 children she entered the convent. She then pursued a career in nursing and later education. Mary later left the convent and married Joesph Kuklis, WWII Pearl Harbor Veteran, who proceeded her in death in 2014. She is survived by her son, Andrew Kuklis, her daughter in law, Julia Gold, and grandson, Max Gold Stachowski, of State College, PA. Mary was very active in her community and church. She moved to State College to be closer to her family. Those who knew her know that she never lost her passion for helping other people before herself. Mama Kuklis will be forever missed by her family, friends, and community. The viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 6-8pm and the Funeral will be held on Sat. Sept. 23, 2017 at 11am at the First Baptist Church of East Stroudsburg, 160 N. Courtland St., East Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UNICEF.
