Mary Jean Learn, 94, of Nazareth formerly of Jackson Township, passed away on Saturday October 19, 2019 at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. She was the wife of the late Jacob L. Learn, who died September 17, 2012. Born May 26,1925 to the late Frank R and Marguerite (Romig) Yeide, Mary Jean grew up in Weatherly PA. She graduated from Weatherly High and then the Saint Luke’s School of Nursing in Bethlehem, PA. She was predeceased by her brother Frank R. Yeide. She was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Tannersville where she participated in many activities including the choir and the sewing club. She was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross, a member of the Elsie Longacre Rebekah Lodge and the local Garden Club. Prior to her retirement in1986, she was Dr. Scrak’s nurse for 5 years and prior to that she was well known as Dr. Marshall Metzgar’s nurse for more than 25 years, both of Stroudsburg, PA. Mary Jean is survived by her son David P. Learn of Stroudsburg and daughter Susan L. Milligan of Wilmington, DE. Mary Jean’s children would like to thank Moravian Hall Square and Saint Luke’s Hospice for the excellent care that was given to their mother. A memorial funeral service will be held on Sunday October 27, 2019 at 3:00pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 158 Fish Hill Road, Tannersville with Rev. Carl W. Filer officiating. Interment of both her and her husband’s cremated remains will be at the convenience of the family in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, PO Box 196, Tannersville, PA 18372 or to St Luke’s Hospice, 240 Union Station Plaza, Bethlehem, PA 18015
