Mary Elizabeth Capone, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday May 21, 2021 at Old Orchard Health Care Center, Easton. She is the wife of Carl Anthony “Tony” Capone. Born March 28, 1942 in East Stroudsburg, the daughter of the late Jessie Ervin and Hazel (Weidner) Shamp. She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Mary was a long time member of Beakleyville Baptist Church in East Stroudsburg. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Phoebe Snow Belles. Mary’s family meant the most to her and was deeply loved by her children, and is survived by 9 children they are Samuel A. Capone and his wife Debbie of Mount Pocono, Teresa A. Allotto and her husband Tony of Lake Wallenpaupack, Phillip P. Capone and his girlfriend Julia Florey of Stroudsburg, Richard S. Capone and his girlfriend Dorothy Thornton of Brodheadsville, Joseph E. Capone and his girlfriend Kelly of Albrightsville, Tammy L. Sengel of East Stroudsburg, Helene Capone and her boyfriend Chris of Tennessee, Alicia D. Wall and her husband Earl of Hopatcong, NJ and Vinesa A. Capone of Tennessee. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her brother Donald Shamp of Franklin NC, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Shamp. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Bensing-Tomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor Lynn Lesoine officiating. Burial will follow in the East Bangor Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street Stroudsburg PA 18360
