Mary Ann “M.A.” (Wolczyk) Armillei, 84, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Friday August 18, 2017 at Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kot) Wolczyk. She graduated from St Ann’s Academy. She attended John Hopkins & St Joseph’s School of Nursing in Baltimore, Maryland. She was granted her Certification to practice nursing in the states of Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She worked as the Head Nurse of the Recovery Room until she married and moved to Teaneck NJ, She then worked as an office nurse until she, her husband and son moved to the Pocono’s. Mary Ann started her own business, M.A. Typesetting which she owned and operated until her retirement. Mary Ann was involved in many organizations, she was a member of St Matthews RC Church, served on the Board of the Catholic Charities, was a Charter member of the Newcomer’s Club, the Eagles Club and the Red Hat Society; she served as Queen Mother for the Sensational Seniors Chapter of the Society. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club of the Stroudsburg’s for 28 years for which she served as Secretary for 25 years. She is survived by her 2 brothers, John Wolczyk of Wilkes-Barre and Joseph Wolczyk of Gaithersburg, Maryland; 7 Godchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was pre-deceased by her husband Jacob in 1971, her son David in 1990, her brother Frank Wolchik, her four sisters, Johanna Barrett, Anna Sindelar, Theresa Cronauer and Bernice Sushinsky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 23, 207 at 10:00am at the Church of Saint Matthew, 200 Brodhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg. Friends and family may call from 9:00am until the Mass at the Church. Burial of her cremated remains will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
