Marjorie Elizabeth (Miller) Kennedy

Marjorie Elizabeth (Miller) Kennedy 96, of Canadensis passed away February 10, 2017 at home. She was the wife of the late David Kennedy who passed away in 2003; they were married for 50 years. Marjorie was born on February 3, 1921 in Elizabeth, NJ the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Samer) Miller. She worked for Bristol-Meyers until getting married in 1952. Once married she became a stay at home mom who later cared for 5 of her grandchildren while their parents worked. Marjorie spent 53 years in Denville, New Jersey before moving to Canadensis for the past 9 years. She was an avid reader, she loved to bake and sew she loved plants and nature and taking rides through the Promised Land State Park as well as other places in Pennsylvania. She is survived by her daughter Laura deFreytag and son in-law Rick and her son Michael Kennedy; grandchildren Melanie Hockenberry and her husband Dale; Sam deFreytag; Kyle deFreytag; Michael Kennedy; David Kennedy; Alyssa Kennedy; Autumn Wheelock and Tanya Wheelock; as well as a sister Ruth Shust. In addition to her parents and husband David, Marjorie was predeceased by her daughter Maria Kennedy Wheelock who passed away in 2007 and her sister Shirley Haussmann who passed in 2013. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Canadensis United Methodist Church at 12 noon.
