Marie Dillon

Marie Dillon (nee Wilson), 93, of East Stroudsburg PA, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023.

She was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, John, as well as her brother, Alex Wilson, and sister,

Doris Wilson, and grandson Justin Waldron. Marie is survived by her sister June Wilson Dawson, her

daughters Linda (Freeborn) Dillon, Maureen Dillon and Kathleen (Dillon) Waldron and husband Rich, four

loving grandchildren: Heather (Freeborn) and husband Mark Addona, Brian and wife Lauren Freeborn,

Carl Waldron and Azure Waldron McCormack, two great-grandchildren; Mason and Madison McCormack.

She was born June 14,1929 in Hawthorne, NJ, daughter of Alexander Wilson & Marie Dooney Wilson.

Marie spent her career as a drafter for Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) in New Jersey. She also served as a

Girl Scout Leader, Choir Member, and was an active member of the Irish-American Social club of Bergen

County. Upon retirement, she and John moved to the Adirondack State Park region of New York where

she continued volunteer work. Some of her favorite organizations were Meals on Wheels, Schroon Lake

Fish & Game Club, Schroon Lake Senior Citizen Center, Master Gardener, Friends of the Library, Seagle

Colony and Project Children of Ireland.

The interment will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the spring.
