Margarita Hagen, 75, of Mount Pocono, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday April 25, 2025, at the Monroe County Hospice House in East Stroudsburg Pennsylvania. She was the wife of George Hagen, they were married December 15, 1990.

Born May 7, 1949, in Queens, New York, the daughter of Julio and Margarita (Leon) Garay. She has been a resident of the Poconos since 1990 and prior to that of Brooklyn New York,

She attended Innovation Church in Cresco Pa.

 Margarita devoted her life to raising her children and being the best grandmother to her grandchildren. Her children were her greatest accomplishment. She was a beloved sister, aunt and friend.

She enjoyed yoga, tap dancing and crocheting in her spare time. Margarita loved to read, going to the Outer Banks every summer, shopping with her grandchildren and spending time with loved ones. Christmas was her favorite holiday and time of year, she enjoyed Hallmark Christmas Movies having her tree up and home decorated by November. She attended countless dance recitals and sporting events that her grandchildren participated in and was their biggest fan. Those who knew her, know that she enjoyed good food and a glass(or two) of wine. Sunflowers were her favorite flower.

In addition to her husband, Margarita is survived by: Her son Daniel Lopez and his wife Melissa (Pocono Summit PA), son Mathew Lopez, daughter Tiffany Schiel and her husband Scott (Frederick PA) and daughter Amber Schweinfurth and her husband Scott (East Stroudsburg PA). She is also survived by her 10 beloved grandchildren, Daniel C. Lopez and his fiancé' Jancie Tavarez, Jason Lopez, Zoe Lopez, Aliza Lopez, Alexis Schiel, Eva Schiel, Remington Schiel, Aubrey Schweinfurth, Dawkins Schweinfurth, her sister Yolanda (Cookie) Torchia of Portage Indiana and sister-in-law Eva Garay of New York, New York. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday May 6, 2025, from 4:00pm until the time of a sharing memories and stories at 6:00 pm, ending with a prayer and blessing by Pastor Dawn Kollar at 6:30pm. The visitation will be held at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg.
