Margaret E. Smith, 83, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at Pleasant Valley Manor. She was the widow of the late Norman Gilbert Ader and the late Dale Francis Smith. Born May 18, 1938 in New Jersey, the daughter of the late Elizabeth Bowmen. She worked at the former Beaufab Mills in Stroudsburg for many years. She loved fishing and horses. Margaret was a kind and loving person who would do anything to help anyone, she loved to talk to strangers; She was a great mother with a lot to give and a heart of gold and is survived by her children Sharon Havenstrite and her husband Charles of Madison Township, PA; Mary Leonard her late husband was George F. of Tobyhanna; Deborah Woodyerd, her late husband was Mike, of Stroudsburg; and Fred Ader and his wife Betty of Effort. Her 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren. Her good friend Tony Metzger and her son Tyler, who would call Margaret his grandmother. She was also close to Sue Gowen, who is an aid at Pleasant Valley Manor, Sue loved Margaret just as if she was her own Mother, she always cared for Margaret with all her heart and soul. Sue gave Margaret the BEST CARE and lots of love; other staff members at Pleasant Valley Manor were also very nice to Margaret. She was predeceased by her son Gilbert Norman Ader when he was 17. There will be a visitation Wednesday June 2, 2021 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm with a memorial service at 5:00pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street with Pastors Lynda Keefer and Dana Antal officiating.
