Margaret Anne (Hubbs) O’Harra, 81, of Analomink, passed away on Thursday October 8, 2015 at Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township. She is the wife of Gard O’Harra, they were married October 25, 1954. Born March 19, 1934 in Philadelphia the daughter of Alfred and Louise (Gruninger) Hubbs. Anne’s father was long time professional musician of the big band era during the late 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, and was also a member of the Philadelphia Radio Station Orchestra. Her mother Louise was active in diplomatic affairs and frequently hosted visiting foreigners during holidays, when they were away from family. Anne was educated at Frankfurt High School and the Philadelphia Museum School of Art. Anne was a commercial artist specializing in fabric design. After a brief career in commercial art, she married Gard O’Harra and resided in Boonton Township, New Jersey as a mother and Homemaker. In addition to her husband Gard, Anne is survived by her brother Alfred Hubbs, her sister Dr. Virginia Hubbs; her 3 children Karen Aquino, Gard Junior, and, Dawn O’Harra, her grandson Gard Aquino. Karen teaches in Stroudsburg, Dawn teaches in Palmyra, near Harrisburg and, and Gard is employed by Potomac Power& Light Co. She predeceased by her sister Louise Tremper. Anne resided with her family in Boonton Township until the 1970‘s, when Route 80 was completed, the moved to Analomink, and husband Gard commuted to work in Parsippany. Anne was a member of the Rockaway Valley Garden Club for over 30 years, was an avid photographer, a self taught naturalist, loved flowers and gardening and birds, and supported many conservation groups such as Duck’s Unlimited and The Sierra Group. Anne loved parties and family gatherings and was a perfect hostess, hosting large gatherings on holidays and other special occasions. Anne could put any stranger at their ease and talked to them like she’d known them for 20 years. She was kind and nurturing mother, raising 3 loving children and helping to raise one happy grandchild She will be missed. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 13, 2015 at 12:00noon at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, with , Stroudsburg her sister Dr Virginia Hubbs officiating Cremation will follow. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 11:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home. Burial of her cremated remains will be at the convenience of the family in the Oakland Cemetery, Mountainhome. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: either the Wooddale United Methodist Church, 100 Barren Road, East Stroudsburg PA 18302.
