Mae Dell Wasserman

Mae Dell Wasserman, 85, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Saturday March 28, 2020 at St Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus. She was the wife of the late Morton Norman Wasserman, who died September 19, 1993. Born May 15, 1934 in McLeansboro, Illinois, the daughter of the late James Arthur and Georgia (Dowell) Hamilton. She was a resident of Monroe County for 24 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution: and the Monroe County Garden Club. She graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1956, and later received her Master’s Degree in Library Sciences from Rutgers University, NJ. Prior to her retirement in 2000, she was the Executive Director of the Pocono Builder’s Association for several years. Mae Dell is survived by her son David Wasserman of Norwalk CT, daughter Wendy Wasserman of Bangor PA, and her grandchildren Matthew Wasserman and Amanda Wasserman of Norwalk, CT. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be announced , Her cremated remains will be buried at sea with Eternal Reefs. The Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: American Kidney Fund.
