Louella Ethel Labar

Louella Ethel LaBar, 78, of East Stroudsburg passed away unexpectedly on Saturday September 16, 2017 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono.  She was the wife of Richard “Dick” LaBar, they were married 10/12/1963.  Born August 18, 1939 in East Stroudsburg, the daughter of the late Merle and Ethel (Ludwig) Ruth.  She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.  Louella worked in housekeeping at the former Mountain Manor in Marshall’s Creek, she also worked at the former Hughes Printing in East Stroudsburg.  Louella was the anchor of her family.  She loved being the Hostess for all of the family picnics.  She was an avid crossword puzzle solver.  Her Soap Operas, MASH t.v show, and Country Music could be heard through the woods in Woodale.  In addition to her husband Dick, she is survived by her son David LaBar and his wife Julia LaBar-Giambalvo of Stroudsburg, her daughter Deborah Ruth of Tennessee;  her granddaughter Olivia Grace LaBar. She is also survived by her sisters Patricia Singer of Stroudsburg,  and Charlotte Conover of Saylorsburg, her sister in-laws Carol Rother, Bonnie Singer, Delores LaBar, Gail Bauman and her brother in laws James "Jim" LaBar, Edmund LaBar, Michael Bauman, and Gene Singer.  She will be missed by her many cherished Nieces and Nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother Howard Ruth, her sister Elfrieda “Tiny“ Staples,  and her brother in laws Carl Rother and Carl "Cork" LaBar.  There will be a visitation on Friday September 22, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with memorial funeral services at 6:00pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor Margie Good officiating  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in Care of the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg PA 18360
