Lorraine “Mang” Susan Treible
Lorraine passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on November 13, 1945, in East Stroudsburg, PA to Frederick and Dorothy (Heller) Beaver. She was a 1964 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School. As a child, she liked to eat green peppers, aka mangos, on bread as a sandwich. Her family nicknamed her “Mango,” which eventually shortened to “Mang” and stuck forever.
Her first job was at Courtland Novelty Sewing Factory. After that, Monroe Silk Mill and Beaufab Mills. She stopped working to take care of her children. And after her husband Ronald Treible, whom she married in 1964, started Treible’s Rooter Service in 1976, she worked alongside him until his death in 1990.
She loved crocheting scarves and blankets and giving them away to friends and family. Crossword puzzles were an everyday must; she said doing them kept her brain working. Most of all, she enjoyed making people laugh and displaying her latest funny T-shirts. Mom said there was too much misery in the world, and she wanted to make people smile.
Lorraine is survived by her children: daughter Rhonda McCloughan & husband Paul (aka #1 son-in-law to Lorraine), son Ronald Treible, Jr, & daughter-in-law Brenda, and son Randy Treible and daughter- in-law Wendi. Also, she leaves grandchildren Hayley Rose, Mercedes (& Mark), Jessica (& Keith), Ethan, and Lily, and great grandchildren Evan, Aden, Alivia, and Andrew. If I may say, Mom was also an honorary “Ma” to so many in “the Burgs”.
She is also survived by her loving sister, Patricia Hilbert, and many nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her “Aunt Mang”. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Lester “PeeWee” Beaver, Frederick Beaver, Jr, and Arden Beaver, and one sister, Abbie Transue.
Other mentions from mom: Wanda Keiper-Deyong (daughter in her heart) and her twin sons David and Gregory, and her good friends Lora Kozak and Lorraine Baner. She was preceded in death by her companion of 24 years, Mitchell Nevil and her dear friend Clara Kithkart.
