Loretta C. Miller-Matthewws

Loretta C. Miller-Matthews, 87, of East Stroudsburg passed away on September 20, 2018. She was the wife of the late Robert Miller who passed in 1984, they were married for 34 years and the late Edward R. Matthews Sr who passed in 2001, they were married for 10 years. Born in East Stroudsburg on December 29, 1930 the daughter of the late John and Bertha (VanWhy) Ace. She was a Graduate of East Stroudsburg High School with the Class of 1948. Loretta worked for Hughes Printing for 11 years, Joseph DeRenzis & Son for 5 years, and Stanley Zuba IGA for 26 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles #1106 and the Pocono Singles and Pocono’s Married Alumni She is survived by her son Robert J Miller and his wife Lora of East Stroudsburg; her grandson Brandyn Miller and his partner Jeff McGrail of Collingswood NJ; granddaughter Alyssa Miller and her partner Andrew Raftovich of Chadds Ford, PA. Her godchildren Georgia (Neipert) Strunk and Keith Strunk Jr. She is also survived by her sisters Norma Smith of Springfield VA, Yondale and her husband William LaBarre of Zephyrhills FL and Eleanor Bratton of Cologne, NJ; also several nieces and nephews. She predeceased by her sisters Verona MacSay, Thelma Frailey and Lorraine Altemose; her brother in laws, Carl A. Smith and Clair Frailey, and her stepson Edward R. Matthews Jr. Per her wishes there will be no services and her final arrangements will be handled by the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg.
