Lisa Kimm Smith

Picture Lisa Kimm Smith of Appenzell passed away peacefully at home after a seven and half year battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband, Mark A. Smith of Appenzell, her children Jason R. Smith and wife Jennifer, and Rebecca L. Kresge and husband Ryan, her grandchildren Abigail, Grace and Gideon Smith and Tucker Kresge. Lisa retired from Pocono Mountain School District after 28 years of service. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Monroe Chapter #99 where she served as Worthy Matron and Secretary of Monroe Chapter #99 as well as District Deputy Grand Matron. Lisa was an active member of St Mark’s Community Lutheran Church, Appenzell where she served on the Church Council and was involved in numerous youth programs and activities. Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Howard M. Robertson II and Patricia (Hofford) Robertson, and her father in law Robert B. Smith. Lisa is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Debra A. Baringer and husband Bob, Marjorie E. Robertson and spouse Deb Gibbs, Howard M. Robertson III and wife Timi and Laurie L. Fish. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation on Saturday May 26, 2018 from 9:00am until 12:00noon; Eastern Star services will be then be held prior to her funeral service at 12noon at St Mark’s Community Lutheran Church, Miller Road, Appenzell with Pastor Paulette Obrecht officiating, Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Appenzell. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
