Leonard R. Altemose 87, of Klecknersville, passed away on Tuesday May 23, 2017 at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Stella May (Miller) Breiner Altemose, who died September 11, 2015. Born June 17, 1929 in Saylorsburg, the son of the late Raymond F. and Martha (Bush) Altemose. Prior to is retirement, Len was a Truck Driver for 65 years, He owned and operated his own trucks and also worked at many local trucking businesses. Len was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania Manoquesy Lodge #413, Bath. He also loved camping and riding motorcycles. He is survived by his 3 sons, Ernest E. Breiner (Elizabeth), Raymond L. Altemose (Jacqueline), and Robert F. Altemose (Antoinette). His grandchildren Ernest (Jordi), and Ethan Breiner (Julie) , Autumn and Luke Altemose, Brian and Morgan Altemose; her great grandchildren, Stella, Carolina, Anna, Finlee, and Isaiah Breiner. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Delores Johnson and Carol Larman; his sister in law Justina Altemose; and many nieces and nephews. Len was predeceased by his brother Harry Altemose. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27th at 11:00 am at the Covenant United Methodist Church, 2715 Mountain View Drive, Bath, (Klecknersville) with Reverend Michael Netznik officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Moorestown, There will be a viewing on Friday May 26th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am until the time of the service at the church. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
