Lauretta Jean Martin

Lauretta Jean Martin, 88, passed away September 21 , 2024. She was the wife of the Late Charles Martin, who passed away July 9, 2021 after 67 years of marriage. She was born in Mcllhaney PA. Lauretta was the only child of the late Wirt & Anna Attemose and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. She was currently under Hospice care and was a resident at Hamilton Manor since 2018.

In her earlier years she was a bookkeeper for First Northern Bank of Stroudsburg and then became supervisor of the billing department at Pocono Medical Center, where she retired after 20 years. But her work did not end there. Her willingness to help was always available for all who needed her, anytime, anywhere.

Lauretta had many friends and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved baking, crocheting, painting, word games, coloring, playing cards and totally adored her furry friends and her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by a son Gordon Martin & his late wife Roxane Teada of Stroudsburg and twin daughters Donna Staples & husband Robert Staples of Stroudsburg and Debbie Klingel & husband Mike Klingel of East Stroudsburg. She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren & 2 Great Great Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son Charles W. Martin, a granddaughter (an angel in heaven) Janelle Martin and a sister-in-law Lavona Buza of St. Augustine Florida.

Respecting their wishes, there will be no public service. The burial of the cremains for both Charles & Lauretta Martin will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances/donations may be made to the United

Methodist Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the charity of one's choice.

She will be sorely missed.
